If you are someone who loves getting involved with the wildlife of Aotearoa, the Massey Student Wildlife and Conservation Club is for you.

We are a fully student led club who does our best to conserve our taonga species. We work closely with Wildbase Recovery and Green corridors and  to provide opportunities for our club members to volunteer as much as possible. You get the chance to volunteer with Wildbase, which includes tasks like cleaning the enclosures, feeding the birds rehabilitated there and being part of the summer baby bird programme. Opportunities for volunteering is also provided outside our local community. If you done enough volunteering throughout the year, club members can volunteer on Rotoroa Island as part of the volunteering rewards system. Club members get the chance to go on monthly hikes as part of Ruahine Whio protectors, to set pest traps and plant trees in the community.

The best thing about this club, is that it’s filled with many students from varying degrees that all share their love for animals. We also run events for our members to give a chance to socialise and relax. This usually includes quiz nights, trips to Kapiti island and the wildlife workshop. We also like to expand our knowledge about wildlife, therefore we also have talks on campus from a range of guest speakers.
