About the Wildlife Club:

We have weekly talks on various wildlife topics from a wide range of speakers. It happens every Wednesday at 1pm in ICLT. The club is also regularly involved in volunteering at the Wanganui Bird Rescue. We try to send out volunteers every weekend.

The club has two major events during the year: The Wildlife Conference and a field trip.

This year we plan to split our talks into three categories: exotics, natives and Bird Nerds. As for the wildlife conference, we are hoping to have a wide range of species, rather than just birds like it has been in the past.

We have club t-shirts, which we order in semester Two.

Why should you Join?

  • Get to attend the Wildlife conference and field trips. It is a great way to make contacts within the industry.

  • Membership is open to all Massey Students, but only BVSc and BVetTech students receive full membership. That is because BVSc and BVetTech students receive membership to the wildlife society of the NZVA when they join the Massey student Wildlife and Conservation club. All other students are associate members. They receive all the same benefits, except the wildlife society membership.

  • Wildlife club membership also makes students eligible for Veterinary Practical work at Wellington Zoo.

How to Join:

  • Membership is $5 per semester

  • Signup sheets are located on the Wildlife message board outside ICLT. Take these along to the next Wildlife talk as well as your $5
